The IFS examination is conducted in two papers, which are paper 1 and paper 2 as mentioned below:

Mandatory Subjects:

• Paper 1: General English
• Paper 2: General Knowledge

The paper 1 and 2 are compulsory subjects which candidates must complete in order to appear for this exam. However, they can opt out from the optional subjects as given beneath:

For paper 3, 4, 5 and 6^th, the candidates can choose any two subjects from the list given below:

For Agricultural Engineering

The syllabus of this subject contains 2 papers:

Paper 1:

Section A- Soil and water conservation, Aerial Photography and Remote Sensing

Section B- Irrigation and Drainage, Agricultural Structures

Part 2:

Section A- Farm Power and Machinery, Agro-energy

Section B- Agricultural Process Engineering, Instrumental and computer applications in Agriculture

For Animal Husbandry

This subject contains 2 papers only (not the sections) as follows:
